About This Item
Pacific Publications, Sydney, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Poor Condition. 650 g; 256pp., index, maps and credits. Illustrated endpapers, showing the main Islands within the Pacific region. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs from the various Pacific Islands. White coloured boards with ochre coloured illustration on the front panel, running the full lenght of the panel, and ochre coloured writing on the spine. There is a foxing to the top edge of the text block. Previous bookseller's sticker at the lower right-hand side of the front paste down. The dustjacket, which is now protected, has water damage to the left-hand edge of the rear panel, and several short tears. The front fold over flap has almost separated from the rest of the jacket. Now protected. In this book, the author has written, not for editors and publishers, but to please herself. Many observations and conclusions, some probably long suppressed, are set out here in a way that is vigourous and forthright, and very entertaining. -- Front fold over blurb Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
