G/NO DUSTJACKET. 1806. Broadsheet. 13" x 11 1/4" on woven paper. The map shows the six tracts of land marked by the letters A-E in question for claim in Luzerne County by the Connecticut land disputes. This in one of the 17 townships later formed into Wyoming County, PA. The lands were owned by Abraham Singer, Philip Stone, Francis Doering?, John Milbeck, Robert Husk, John Comes? The document is Surveyed and Examined by Jonathan Stevens On the reverse "Draught of Interfacery?? of land in Northmoreland belonging to the bank of Northmoreland. Reference - Miner. HISTORY OF WYOMING, IN A SERIES OF LETTERS, FROM CHARLES MINER, TO HIS SON WILLIAM MINER. 1991. Pages 530-532 (Abraham Singer), Appendix pages 56-57 (Jonathan Stevens). This land is now Center Moreland and West Falls, PA. The pen and ink map that once had green color according to the text shows a draft overlay of the Connecticut lands over the Pennsylvania descriptions. Some fading of descriptions. .

This book is in good condition. There is some wear on the front, back, spine, edges and corner of the cover. There is some dog-earring on the right corner pages of the book. The pages are white, crisp and clear of any markings. "This is a history of the visual arts produced in the geographical area that now constitutes the United States. Such a book is difficult to title. A History of United States Art sounds awkward and logically might even be construed to exclude the arts of the colonial period. Thus, with apologies to our northern and southern neighbors, I use the title A History of American Art, knowing full well that the terms America and the United States are not synonymous...." - Preface from A History of American Art
