London: Francis Constable, 1633. A Manuall of the Anatomy of the Body of Man, containing the enumeration of the parts of it, which usually are shewed in the publike anatomicall exercises. [16],336 pp. LACKS TITLE-PAGE ['Printed by I. L[egate] for Francis Constable and Edwin Bush, and are to be sold at the signe of the Crane in Pauls Church-yard]. Bound in the original full calf with attractive gilt border and decoration. Lacking the free-end papers and the title page. The final page has Summa approbationis and is dated "Datum ex aedibus Lambethanis Oct 17th 1633 Guil. Bray". THE STC STATES 12 NOVEMBER 1633. There appears to be only a handful of the 1634 second issues of this early anatomy book in existance.. THIS IS AN UNRECORDED COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. Walter Menzies in his article on Alexander Read noted that this small volume was result of Alexander Read's lectures and was a separate book from his 1616 Manual. He cites the only known copy of the second issues to be in the Hunterian Collection.[1931]. 12.5 x 7.5cms.. 1st edition. Hardback. 12mo.
