About This Item
London: John Churchill, 1846. Very Good. pp 582 First edition illustrated throughout with wood engravings of human anatomy. This example is in a nineteenth century half leather binding with gilt decoration over brown cloth, with marbled edges. The binding is sound but the leather is worn to the corners and the spine label lost. Internally the text and illustrations are complete. The two plates of cells and the nerve centres of different classes of animal are damp stained, but the other pages are clean. With an extended chapter on the development and metamorphoses of cells. Very Good 1846
