Covers are clean with light wear to extremities. Binding is tight and square. The book is in Very Good condition, while the dust jacket is in good condition with rubbing, scuffing, chipping, soiling and closed tears, and is covered in a protective mylar jacket. Liddell Hart describes Manstein as the ablest of all German generals. His conquest of the Crimea, followed by the retreat to the Dniester, and his trial four years after the war ended are fully described. The author was Manstein's Counsel for Defence.
