B/w. tissue-guarded frontis. illust. of Anne Hathaway's Cottage by Walter Tomlinson followed by his article: "A Walk to Shottery from Stratford-On-Avon". Many further articles including: A piece on Thomas Rowlandson & His Works with eight illustrations; An article on Randolph Caldecott with four illustrations from his 'Sketches'; The Art of Seeing by William Robinson illustrated by his drawing of Boston Church in Lincolnshire; John Mortimer writing on the Bell Tower of Prestbury Church in Cheshire illustrated Christopher Blacklock's b/w. drawing; an essay on street ballads, poems & many other articles on literature, philosophy, religion, etc. plus a Manchester bibliography for 1885. Size: Large Octavo. 451 pages. Spine has worked loose at edges and been re-glued in position. Slight foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Deckled edges (rough cut).
