Suzanne Sawyer: "The legacy of quilting is ubiquitous in American history, so much so that it has lost some of the meaning it once held. Their quilts have become world renowned for their simple geometric patterns and have been compared to the work of modern…

Santiago de Chile: LOM Ediciones, 2007. Third edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Toral, Mario. White jacket front with beautiful watercolor by Mario Toral and black jacket back have no rips or tears and are very clean wit only a few smaller-than-pinhead-size black spots near front fold. Only visable sign of wear on jacket is a bit of rubbing at the top spine edge. Jacket looks great in its fresh mylar cover. Black paper-covered boards show only the merest hint of rubbing at top and bottom spine edges. "Mal de Amor" is stamped in front board. Signed by poet, Hahn, in blue ink and by artist, Toral in orange felt tip on free front endpaper. Apparent gift inscription in Spanish (I don't read Spanish and script isn't clear enough for Google Translate) also on free front enepaper. Interior is otherwise clean and unmarked throughout. Filled with poetry by Oscar Hahn and watercolors by Mario Toral. Oscar Hahn is a Chilean writer and poet and winner of multiple awards, most notably the Chilean National Prize for Literature. Mario Toral is a Chilean painter and photographer.

Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows

It's a thought experiment: if we tore down the barracks at military hospitals and offered incentives for Americans in the surrounding neighborhoods to quarter injured service members, what would the honest instructions…
