Pages are clean and unmarked except for neat gift inscription to child on FFEP and owner's sticker for same child on rear paste-down. Minor shelf wear on boards, except for small abrasion to bottom of front board near corner. Corners mostly sharp and square. Unclipped DJ has original $3.50 price. Caldecott Prize medal on cover. Notable wear to DJ spine and lower front edge; moderate along other edges. Photos available upon request. Shipped in a box with bubble wrap, and a tracking number. [318-20]
Synopsis
Make Way for Ducklings is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Robert McCloskey. First published in 1941, the book tells the story of a pair of mallard ducks who decide to raise their family on an island in the lagoon in Boston Public Garden, a park in the center of Boston, Massachusetts. Make Way for Ducklings won the 1942 Caldecott Medal for McCloskey's illustrations, executed in charcoal then lithographed on zinc plates. As of 2003, the book had sold over two million copies.
