Description:
New York etc.: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1974. 1st ed. . Red Cloth. VG/VG-. 14.5 Cm x 21.5 Cm. xv+(1, epigraph quote from Kurt Lewin)+206; sm.faint sig.top fr. free endpaper, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked in clean bright unworn covers; unclipped jacket clean bar a bluish smudge along top back joint & v.sl.dustiness to back, v.sl.rubbing along top edge; brown spotting along top edge of textblock. Identifying themselves with a lineage from William James via Adler to Kurt Lewin these guys seem to hate everyone else with a passion, humanistic psychologists as well as behaviourists. They object to lack of historical contextualization in history of Psychology, and see humanistic Psychology as entirely the product of contemporary social conditions, lacking any scientific character at all. An interesting radical critique, itself now of historical interest. Scarce outside North America.
