[Mount Vernon, NY]: Editions, 1992. Comb binding. Fine. Miniature book, 31 pp., signed by Ed Hutchins, in a plexiglass case. Book Artist Edward H. Hutchins believes that: everyone has a story to tell; that the best books are not mass-produced; and that when one let's one's imagination soar, the most amazing creations are possible utilizing, often, fairly inexpensive materials. Thus was born - Guerilla Bookmaking.
Ed Hutchins has produced at least over eighty books between the years 1968 and 2005 (perhaps more - gleaned from several sources). Always creative and frequently carrying a social justice message, Ed's books charm and delight. His own web site offers a few books which are still in print; this volume, exploring the delight of the recipient of a letter, is out of print and we are pleased to offer it here.
___DESCRIPTION: Spiral-bound with a black plastic comb between two flexible grey cardboard covers, the front with a peach-coloured paper label with black lettering, title page in black and blue, pages also peach-coloured with text in black with in-text illustrations in blue, four pages with fold-outs, signed by Ed Hutchins on the final page; miniature book (1.75" by 1 5/8"), unpaginated with sixteen leaves, thirty-one printed pages. Encased in a small plexiglass case with a separate lid (uncertain whether this was furnished by the artist/publisher or by a prior owner) measuring 1 7/8" by 1 7/8" by 5/8" deep.
___CONDITION: Fine, clean throughout, straight corners without rubbing, the binding strong, and entirely free of prior owner markings; crisp and as new. The plexiglass case near fine with light overall surface scratches.
___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details.
