Ca.1880. 3" X 3 1/2" Photo album with each page holding 4 tin type photographs each measuring 1" x 3/4" making a total of 48. These are students and a few faculty at San Jose Normal School in original blue case. We have been able to identify many of these students who later entered California society J.H. Braly who was professor and superintendent of the vineyard at the State Normal School, Maggie Henry who was principle in Los Angeles in 1892, Nellie Henry who taught in Contra Costa county and later Los Angeles; India Scott Willis who married into the upper range of San Francisco society to Arthur W. Spear ending in a controversial divorce reported in the in the San Francisco Call in 1907, Emma Williams who taught piano, Ella Mitchell, who became a leader of the Order of the Eastern Star in Los Angeles, these others can be found in Ancestry: Mary M. Houghton, Carrie Lull, Minnie Allison, Florence Flagler, Abagail Farnsworth, Mollie Vance, Josie Braly, Mary Ella Broomell, Lou Bethell, Will Marshall, Katie Flickinger, K. Galligher, Hattie Stone, Mr. Lincoln; May Cork, Lee Hamilton, and several which can only be partially read.
