London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, 1831. Volume 4 only. This is the original 1831 first edition -- not a cheaply-made modern reprint. Very Good condition. SEE PHOTOS. Bound in marbled boards with leather spine and corners, however the leather covering the backstrip has perished. Front and rear covers are still attached. Clean, square, and tight. Pages are in Near Fine condition with almost no foxing. On the front pastedown endpaper is the armorial bookplate of John Macfarlane.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good (lacks spine cover). 8vo. vi, 570pp.
