Winifred Mary Curtis (1905-2005) was an Australian botanist, author and a pioneer researcher in plant embryology and cytology with a prominent role in the University of Tasmania Botany Department; 'The Winifred Curtis Laboratories (the teaching laboratory complex in the Department of Plant Science) is named in her honor'.
