Singapore: [The City Council]; Printed in Edinburgh by Pillans & Wilson, 1953. First edition, pp.18, illustrations. A very good copy in original wrappers. In 1953, the year of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth the Second, Loke Wan Tho made a donation to Singapore which was used to design and create a Mace for the city. A committee was set up consisting of the donor, President of the City Council, Northcote-Parkinson, Gibson-Hill, Holttum, and others. Their suggestions were sent to the sculptor Charles d'Orville Pilkington Jackson who prepared the design and supervised the silversmith, enameller and engraver who produced it.
