New York: Robert Carter & Brothers, 1875. 347 pages. One of the Miss Ashton's Girls series of book by Mathews. A clean tight book with an bright attractive gilt and black decoration on the green cloth boards. Uniformly light toning of pages; lightly bumped corners; a hint of edgewear; some foxing on the endpapers; rubbing along the edges of the spine; 3 leaves with 1/2" closed tear in margin; and a 3/4" tan stain along the bottom edge of 80 pages, never intruding more than 1/16" into the margin. There is a small sticker on the front pastedown from Weller & Diefendorf, a book and stationery store in Johnstown, New York.. Hard Cover. First Edition. Hard Cover. Collectible-Good-. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Green Cloth Covered Boards.
