The present copy is inscribed by Ed Grabhorn to Mrs. Tobin Clark of Hillsborough, heiress to the Hibernia Bank fortune. Ed Grabhorn had also published a book for Mrs. Tobin about her sister Agnes Tobin, a patron of music and a connoisseur of the California heritage who had accomplished much in the literary field. Ransohoffs was an elite women's department store who catered to the affluent of the Bay Area. .16(1)pp., illustrations designed and engraved by Mallette Dean and with an introduction by Oscar Lewis. Bound in gilt decorated maroon paper covered boards, backed in red cloth, slight fading to board edges, spine lightly rubbed, internally fresh.
