London, 1816. Copper engraving, sheet size 54 x 95 cm, original hand colour, dissected into 20 panels and laid on linen, minor wear, lacks slip-case. Includes the whole of Hyde Park and the newly planned Regent’s Park in the west, extending as far south as Camberwell, and with good detail of the Isle of Dogs in the east. Waterloo Bridge was named on the 1817 edition. Our edition is dated January 1 1816, and an ownership signature in the upper margin records its aquisition by JW Carrington on 12 July 1816. London: Edward Mogg, No. 51 Charing Cross. January 1st, 1821. Map dimensions 49.5 x 92 cm, overall dimensions 53 x 94.5 cm. Original colour in block and outline. Folding plan of London showing the extents from Islington down to Camberwell and the River Lea across to Kensington. The plan printed over three conjoined parts, the whole dissected into 20 sections and backed onto linen. Old cardboad adhesion to verso Howgego, No. 237, (12). Cf. Boyle, 51, 53 and 87 for some of the other editions.
