London: Thomas Holmes. No Date (ca 1850) . Cloth. Very Good. Foreword + 27 biographies starting with Queen Victoria, finishing with Katherine Parr, with, in between, many names (including Lady Jane Grey) still well known and others forgotten now but all the same interesting for various reasons. Mid blue embossed cloth with front vignette and spine lettering and decorations in gilt, the spine has been expertly laid down on newer cloth, hardly visible, corners a little bumped. All edges bright gilt, embellished with 12 tissue protected fine steel plate portraits, inscription (dated 1852) on flyleaf, light stain on foredge of last few pages, a very attractive old book in vg condition. 8vo, 304pp
