London, UK.: Kegan Paul, Trench & Company.. Good. 1881. Hardcover. 12mo - 19 x 12 cm.; Volume I: xxviii - 280 pp. Volume II: vii - 264 pp. Volume III: vii - 277 pp. The title continued: ". . . with translations into English in the original meters and short explanatory notes by Digby S. Wrangham, MA, of St. John's College, Oxford, Vicar of Darrington, Yorkshire". Adam of St. Victor was a twelfth century French poet who wrote liturgical hymns and sequences and the translations by Wrangham have been made from the Latin or so I am led to believe. Quarter bound with gray paper over boards and ivory cloth with red and black lettering on the spines. All text block edges are untrimmed or rough cut. Volume I - free front end paper is removed, Volume II and III - half of the free front end papers have been removed and the spines are chipped and separating at the joints. Previous owner's name present in all three on the first leaf of each. The interiors of all are clean and the bindings are sound and solid. Minimal foxing and that to the end papers. .
