London: William Heinemann, 1934. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A signed copy of this first edition novel by Francis Brett Young. The first edition. Written to the verso of front endpaper is 'The first 25 copies of 'This Little World' taken from the machine have been specially bound for presentation by the author. Inscription from Francis Brett Young is to 'Mr H K Foster from Francis Brett Young July 1934.' Inscription is possibly to Henry Knollys Foster, an English criketer who played for Oxford University and Worcestershire. Francis Brett Young was an English novelist, playwright and composer. 'This Little World' was published during the height of his career in 1934. In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Minor rubbing to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Handling marks and some spotting to the cloth covered boards. Spine is slightly rubbed as are the joints. Spine has faded. Inscription from author to one H K Foster to presentation page. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm after endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot throughout. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
