Hurd and Houghton printed at the Riverside Press 1873 early edition 132 pages plus 4 pages of notes. A good copy with sunning to the spine and wear and rubbing to the cloth binding, wear to the spine ends. Nice warn neat gift inscription on the front free end paper. Nicely Illustrated. Binding is tight text and plates clean. See photos ref 26

Glossary

Some terminology that may be used in this description includes:

Rubbing
Abrasion or wear to the surface. Usually used in reference to a book's boards or dust-jacket.
Tight
Used to mean that the binding of a book has not been overly loosened by frequent use.
Spine
The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf....
Cloth
"Cloth-bound" generally refers to a hardcover book with cloth covering the outside of the book covers. The cloth is stretched...
