About This Item
London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown, 1811. Two volumes in three - Volume One - xix, [1], 256pp; Volume Two - vii, [1], 358pp and Volume Three - [2], 359-652pp, [2]. Contemporary full sprinkled calf, smooth spines, divided into six panels by triple gilt rules, morocco title label to second panel, volume in gilt to fourth, remaining panels decorated with central lozenge-shaped gilt tool, covers bordered with gilt double fillet. Worn to extremities, especially outer joints, front joint of volumes two and three split and weak but holding, corners bumped and worn, slightly chipped to spine ends. Internally some offsetting from frontispiece portrait onto title, some light browning, but generally fairly clean, small amount of worming to fore-edge of first and last few pages of volume two (not affecting text). Five plates to volume one, eighteen to volume two (as called for). Bound at Duffield's Public Library, Bath, with their ticket to front pastedowns. Pritzel 8977. First Edition. Full Calf. Good. 8vo.
