Sydney: Australian Artist Editions, Legend Press, 1961. Limited Edition. Preface by the Prime Minister of Australia, the Right Honourable Robert Gordon Menzies C.H. It is a pleasure to write a few words about my friend Will Ashton. It is not for me to express an expert judgment upon his work; that is a duty admirably and most authoritatively performed by William Dargie in this book. But it is perhaps permissible to say that for the whole of my adult life I have been in a small way a collector of Australian art, and I have long since realised that one of the tests of any picture is to live with it and find out whether you get more out of it as years go by. Will Ashton certainly survives this test.... Quarto, bound in cream linen, limited edition of 300, tipped-in colour plates throughout, a very good copy signed by the artist.
