Fine aquatint frontispiece portrait of Talleyrand. Condition: Very Good+ with mild wear to extremities and along outer surface of joints, assorted small areas of darkening to leather; interior bright, free of any foxing and unmarred. Nice copies. Translated from the original French. Though not definitive, the 1834 London edition published by Edward Churton is generally considered to be the true first edition, preceding the 1834 Philadelphia edition published by Carey, Lea and Blanchard. In any event it is certainly the more rare of the two.
