Two volume set, hardback books are tight clean and square. Quarter leather boards sharp and clean, with leather tips. Marbled paper covers nice with some rubbing to edges. Minor bumps and rubs to head and foot of spines, with nice title gilt. Text block clean, top egde toned, with printers speckled edges. The pages are exceptionally crisp and unblemished. Tissue guards seem to be present on all plates, except for the frontispiece for volume one. Feel lightly read. Very good condition. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection.
