An English-language translation of the Latin work Historia Vitæ Jacobi Arminii, by the Amsterdam Remonstrant minister Kaspar Brandt (1653-1696), edited and published by his son Gerard in 1724. A 19th century biographer (Bangs) states that this book was still the standard biography. Lang, Adamson and Co were publishers to the Evangelical Union (Morisonians, Arminian Congregationalists), of which John Guthrie (father of the artist Sir James Guthrie) was a co-founder with James Morison and others.
