Front hinge just starting, as is inside front gutter - but book is intact and tight textblock. 1 and a half inch by 1" blank label on inside front cover. Leather is rough along some edges and spine. ; 3/4 brown leather with marbled boards. Engraved frontispiece of Stephenson. Textblock edges all toned in red with no blemishes. Tight textblock and clean, unmarked text. This biography is of the person "to whom the world is mainly indebted for the locomotive railway system." ; Engraving; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 546 pages .
