Both volumes tight and Near Fine to Fine in crisp, easily Near Fine dustjackets. Octavos, top-edges gilt, lovely frontispiece photographs of William James. Edited by his son Henry, "these letters, covering the writer's life from his boyhood to the end, form a genuine autobiography of one who may well be called the most interesting man of thought in America since Emerson" (from the front covers). The sharpest example of the 2 volume set this bookseller has seen.
