About This Item

Dublin: Carraig Books Reprints, 1979. Paperback. Very Good/None. In pale beige wraps with red lettering and sepia illustration on front. A half inch yellow price sticker to front cover. First half of pages are toned. Interior clean and unmarked. Page 43 was dog eared. Corners bumped and a little edgeworn at top front. Wrinkled area on back top corner but lays flat, and back also has a small quarter inch impression mark. Overall good representation of this scarce 1979 edition first published in 1850. Formerly an ordained minister of the Church of Ireland, when Burton converted to the Catholic Church, he moved to Harold's Cross and ""had leisure to become familiar with its history and traditions. He frequented its quaint green and listened to the elders of the village discourse on its past.""
