About This Item

Cambridge, 1949. 1p. on a single sheet. 1 vols. 4to. Old fold lines. Near fine. 1p. on a single sheet. 1 vols. 4to. Letter signed by suffrage leader and activist Alice Stone Blackwell, less than a year before the end of her life. The letter, to Rev. George L. Paine, simply reads: "Dear Friend: Your kind communication has wholly bewildered me. I do not know in the least what I have done to deserve it. Yours gratefully." Blackwell has signed her name in a shaky hand, her last name nearly illegible, her ninety-one years evidencing themselves her in signature.

Our stock covers a wide range of collecting interests, with particular emphasis in the following fields: British and American Literature, Sporting Books, Private Press and Illustrated Books, 19th-Century Color Plate Books, Americana, Travel, Sets and Fine Bindings, History, and Authors' Manuscripts and Letters. Our catalogued inventory exceeds 50,000 titles, much of which can be searched on the internet. In addition, our New Jersey warehouse contains over 400,000 books in all subject areas. We might have the books you're looking for.
