About This Item

Rutland, Vt: Vermont Accident Insurance Co, 1910. Good -. Typed letter to M.G. Morse, of Hardwick, Vt., signed by A.C. Mason, secretary and treasurer, about a profit-sharing contract showing a balance due the company. The letterhead includes an engraved image of an eagle protecting a nest holding baby birds. The other officers listed are H.C. Farrar, president, and M.G. Morse, Vice President. The Vermont Accident Insurance Co. was incorporated in 1900 by several Rutland Co. businessmen and began doing business in 1906. Although the second quarter of 1910 had not made money, "we trust the present quarter will show a nice profit." In Good- Condition: lightly soiled; small stain at lower edge; loss at one lower corner, not impacting text; several closed tears of 2 cm. or less; small hole in the center of the eagle.
