About This Item

Trinidad: EOC Press, 1999. 172p. paperback, very good. On the history and continuing legacy of the slave trade, especially family dysfunction in the African diaspora, with significant relevance to Barbados in particular. A statement printed inside the front cover states that almost the entire print run of the first edition was destroyed by fire. "The Barbados media played down the indicent, as is its wont, when faced with blatant racism. It is with regret that we have reprinted overseas. However, the fire provides us with the opportunity to revise and focus more on solutions.
