London: James Nisbet and Co, 1857. First British Edition. A discourse on the life and miracles of Christ, a later work by James Hamilton (1814-1867), a minister of Scottish extraction. We find no copies of the First Edition in the trade (2013); OCLC locates 11 copies of this edition, with only 4 held in American institutions. Octavo; full tan calf with maroon leather title label, five raised bands, with star and wheat motif stamped in gilt to center compartments; all edges stained in matching tan; 319pp, [1] ad. Light rubbing to extremities, with minor board exposure to two corners; minor spotting to panels, with some faint foxing to preliminary and terminal leaves, else fresh and clean throughout; hinges sound and firm, with the spine gilt still quite bright; Very Good to Near Fine.
