Red cloth binding with beveled boards, gilt lettering on spine and cover. Condition of the book is VERY GOOD: Very light wear to covers and spine, minimal sun darkening to spine. Edges of text block lightly foxed, several pages in on front and rear are foxed, foxing appears at the edges of some pages, binding is tight.

Tenants of building (as per signs) include: Union Bank of Australia, Alex Brown Colliery, Belgian & US Consulate, New Lambton Colliery Indemnity Fire and Machinery Insurance, Hewison Shipping Insurance & General Commission Agent. According to Newcastle Library records these businesses were located in a bank building in Newcastle, but pictorial records depict a different building. It would seem highly coincidental if these same businesses were located at the same time in nearby East Maitland or Morpeth, but remains a possibility. No other pictorial records can be located..

Black card stock covers, with white lettering and EW decoration on front cover. White comb spiral binding. 79 pages, with 30 full page b/w photographic plates and excerpts from Weston's daybooks. Wear to all four corners, and scrapes at top of rear cover. Small repair to top of comb binding. Small ghost of sticker removal at top corner of Front FEP. No names or marks. Illustrated dust-jacket (with "$10.00" price intact) is in one piece, but has loss at both spine ends, at middle of spine, and at bottom corner of both panels at spine. The dust-jacket also has a horizontal crease across middle (where it was folded and tucked inside book). Due to size, international shipping at cost.

From the library of Brady's first NY gallerist, signed by the author. The gallerist was also a painter, and accordingly the cover shows traces of paint and dust. Otherwise a fine copy. Bright yellow card with imprint on verso. Photo has light silvering, else very good. This image depicts the party portaging near Log Cabin Cliff. E. O. Beaman was the photographer of Powell's second Colorado River Expedition from 1871-72. After leaving the survey he continued photographing Native Americans in New Mexico and Arizona.; 4 1/2" x 7" .

All captions penned in the humorous glib of a young boy. Bound in maroon cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, childhood photograph in black and white mounted to front cover. A near fine copy.
