Hardcover has very light edge/corner wear, corner bumping, light spotting to cover, but otherwise clean. Interior clean and intact, inscription in pen on first endpage. Jacket has several edge tears and chips, age tanning, light soiling to rear, not price clipped. 217 pages. London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1952. Scarce first edition hard cover in good condition, with unclipped dust jacket in acceptable condition. From the collection of W.L. Webb, the Guardian's literary editor for many years, ownership penned to FEP. Cover is shelfworn and fragile; tanned and foxed, with chipping, creasing and wear to cover, edges, corners and folds. Several open and closed tears noted, and lower third of the DJ spine is gone. Boards are clean; some loss of colour to corresponding spine area, and pageblock tanned. Within, binding is secure, and content is bright and unmarked. CN. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. Used.
