London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1952. Scarce first edition hard cover in good condition, with unclipped dust jacket in acceptable condition. From the collection of W.L. Webb, the Guardian's literary editor for many years, ownership penned to FEP. Cover is shelfworn and fragile; tanned and foxed, with chipping, creasing and wear to cover, edges, corners and folds. Several open and closed tears noted, and lower third of the DJ spine is gone. Boards are clean; some loss of colour to corresponding spine area, and pageblock tanned. Within, binding is secure, and content is bright and unmarked. CN. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. Used.
