Albany: Printed by Charles R. and George Webster, 1802. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 8vo. Volume 2 only. [4], 544pp., [9]pp Subscriber names, [1]p. advertisement. Engraved title page. Later binding. Plain boards with tan cloth spine and paper title label on spine. Cloth is chipped head and base of spine. Moderate toning to pages. Old ink inscription at top of title page - "James Tallmadge Jun 1802." J. Tallmadge name stamped on front advertisement page. Tallmadge practiced law in New York in the early 1800's. He served in the War of 1812. Later, he became an United States Lawyer and defended Andrew Jackson's actions during the Seminole Indian War. Tallmadge also was a member of the United States House of Representatives. He continued to practice law in New York later in his career.
