This work also covers laws pertaining to how the game was caught: gun, dogs, nets, etc. together with the nature of the proceedings in several courts, their methods and oaths of the respective officers.....To which is now added, (never before published) English forms of convictions, declarations, indictments, justifications, licences(sic), and more. This edition contains not only the forms of original writs, indictments, convictions, etc....but also instructions in relating to forest game or game elsewhere. The introduction discusses the early wars with Briton and the Saxons and how game was plentiful and no laws were needed but soon the animals of the forest needed to be preserved. Laws were then put into effect. This book gives details when certain animals can be hunted, where and by whom. It also gives information on laws of fishing and duck hunting and more. A very nice copy bound in resent 1/4 brown leather over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands, black leather label gilt, endpapers renewed.
