The text is illustrated with numerous sepia toned photographs, sepia toned sketches, maps and illustrations. The book has been printed on a slightly yellow hued page with dark brown ink. Brown coloured boards with white titles to the backstrip. A little rubbing to the book corners and backstrip corners. Illustrated dustwrappers, against a yellow background, with dark brown and tan coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A little rubbing to the dustwrapper edges and dustwrapper panels. The laminate of the dustwrapper has started to bubble on the front dustwrapper panel and there is a particularly large bubble in the top right-hand corner. Fading to the backstrip.
