This edition was designed for the British readers which takes us over a part of Southern Syria and over Palestine, but in a direction opposite to that pursued by most travelers. Most often, travelers enter from the South. The author takes us on his tour through the North side. There is a large folding map of Palestine (with a closed tear), a map of lake Tiberias and a folding plan of Jerusalem. The present book was given as a prize for a Latin essay awarded to A.R. Cowell. A very nice copy bound in full calf pictorially stamped in gilt with the school's motto, spine gilt, black morocco spine label gilt, marbled endpapers and all edges marbled, some rubbing to binding, no foxing, clean and fresh internally.
