Note: the first U.S. edition of this was done by Doubleday; this Literary Guild edition was done at about the same time and carries the same "First Edition" statement on the copyright page as the Doubleday edition -- however the Literary Guild edition is not the first. BINDING/CONDITION: purple cloth; owner's name/address stamp -- twice (once on the front facing endpaper, and once within the text), otherwise a Very Good book, with a Good dust jacket
