Wills & Hepworth Ltd, Loughborough, England, 1958. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. Illustrator: Photographic. Illustrated endpapers, being a blue and white bee design, reproduced multiple times. The text is illustrated with 46 coloured photographs of various British Railway locomotives, photographs supplied by British Railways. The first two locomotives described are B. R. Standard Class 7 4-6-2 No. 70000 'Britannia' and B. R. Standard Class 8 4-6-2 No 71000 'Duke of Gloucester'. Buff coloured boards with green coloured vignette of a train, ( front cover shows train coming from the right side). Green coloured titles to the front panel and spine. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A small book on British Railway locomotives, put out by The Ladybird -- book series. Series 584. Softening to the backstrip edges and to the book corners. Rubbing of the book edges with faint foxing to the textblock edges. A previous owner has clipped the lower quarter of the page following the free front end page. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Rubbing of the panels with staining and some staining also visible. Browning to the verso of the dustwrapper. This is the first UK edition. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). 60, [1] pages. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Dust Jacket price-clipped. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic.
