No holding on OCLC; not in Bitting; not in Culinary America. Heavily worn cover with a 2" spine split; edges with some chips and surface soil. Contents clean with some faint spots, corner tips creased and edge tone. Recipes written in narrative, most with contributor's name. Many local ads offer a look into history: Marshall Electric "There is a set (radio) within reach of every purse." . A laundry offers saving time and money by using their service: "Wash day is pretty expensive" ... pay the washwoman, feed the washwoman, buy soap, starch & bluing and extra fuel." Recipes include a variety of Cakes, Puddings including many Christmas puddings, breads, doughnuts, etc. Meat & poultry are rather sparse in comparison, with a better representation in the Meatless recipes which include a variety of seafood dishes. Holy Redeemer Catholic Church was built in 1884. Marshall is the regional center and county seat for Lyons County in Southwestern Minnesota. Marshall became an incorporated village in 1876, and a city on February 20, 1901.
