McClelland and Stewart Canada., 1961. First Edition, 6th Printing.. Hardcover.. VG+/Fair+. 8 1/2 x 6 x 1 1/4.. NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book interior VERY GOOD PLUS, Dust Jacket Fair Plus. Book has khaki cloth boards, spine, gilt lettering and gilt prospector embossed on front cover. Dust jacket is in metallic gold, and has lots of creases, chips, tears and the front and back folds are very worn at the fold edge. Book has slight age darkening of the front cover. Book is the 1958 edition, reprinted. Rag edge pages. Different black/white photo on each end page. Top of page edges black as issued. No other photos or illustrations. May need extra postage.
Synopsis
Pierre Berton, Canada's most widely read historian, was born in the Yukon and educated at UBC. Author of forty-seven books, he has received three Governor General's awards for nonfiction, two Nellies for broadcasting, two National Newspaper awards, the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, and the National History Society's first award for "distinguished achievement in popularizing Canadian history." He holds eleven honorary degrees, is a member of the Newsman's Hall of Fame, and is a Companion of the Order of Canada.

IMPORTANT RE POSTAGE: I'm in Canada so books to the USA/Other Countries are International shipments and may be delayed by CUSTOMS and/or HOMELAND SECURITY. I'm using the Biblio standard postage matrix, which gives average postage fees, therefore sometimes for an OVERSIZE or LARGE heavy book or expensive book, the postage may be too low and may require extra charges. If I know this in advance, I will notify the buyer before the order is processed.
This is not a huge book warehouse, it is a small one-owner store run by a true book lover.
