This account of education and childhood amongt the Klamath is based on the reports of several old people who themselves experienced traditional tribal life as children. According to the informants no formal way of teaching children existed; instead skills and knowledge were transmitted in a rather informal way. Boys were trained for enduring physical hardships. Emphasis was placed upon quiet behavior when in adult company. Condition: Head edge stained else very good.
