1972 hardcover as pictured. A true crime expose of the 1943 murder of Sir Harry Oates which claims to identify the perpetrators. Characters in the story include the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and the gangster, Meyer Lansky. Binding is firm. Blue boards with gold stamping on spine are faded and tanned at edges with gently bumped lower corners. Pictorial endpapers. Owner's name on half title. Writing on page with other books by author. Edge of text block is mottled. Text appears otherwise clean and unmarked. Includes several b&w photographs and illustrations. Dust jacket is rubbed and worn at edges with a few small chips and tears.
