About This Item

London, United Kingdom: Hodder and Stoughton, 1935. Bound in the publishers cream cloth with blue and red boarder lines and titles to front board and spine. This copy has been signed and dated by John Buchan in blue ink to the front free endpaper. This is the sixth impression published in May 1935 just one month after the first impression of April 1935. Famous frontispiece of a colour photograph of the king broadcasting at Sandringham which is reproduced courtesy of The Times newspaper. Light overall signs of handling otherwise a very decent copy. Housed in the rather worn dustwrapper which has loss to the head of spine and corners. The above mentioned photograph of the King's broadcast is repeated to the front panel of the dustwrapper. Publishers printed price remains intact on front inside flap. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Scarce to encounter copies which have been signed by the versatile author, John Buchan. An interesting and indepth look at the King's life and reign.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Very Good/Good.
