The rich and fascinating history of Canadian town first settled in the late 17th century by French Acadians. A center of the North Atlantic fishing industry the town became home to many of the Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution. Included in this group were the Black Loyalists, escaped slaves who fled to the British lines in search of freedom. They founded the largest settlement of free blacks in North America. Many from this community would eventually emigrate to Sierra Leone. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
