First hardcover edition, published by Gnome Press, 1953. No dust jacket. 256 pages. 8vo. Red cloth covered boards. Includes five stories with each one having an introduction paragraph written by P. Schuyler Miller & John D. Clark. Cover boards are flat. Cover corners are straight and not bumped or creased. Lght edge wear to the heel of the spine, and to the bottom edges of the boards. Author name, title, and cover design imprinted in black on cover and spine still crisp and not rubbed or worn. Beautifully detailed map on the pastedown-ffep, both front and back. Text pages are clean, with no writing. There is a former owner's label on the ffep, a small label about an inch long, 1/4 inch tall with a typewritten name. Edges of the text pages are clean, binding is tight and square. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory, not stock photos!
