Copenhagen: Reitzels Forlag, 1857. [16],296pp. 19th century morocco and cloth, bound without the wrappers, but with the half-title. Spine extremities considerably rubbed, internally very good or better. First edition. An important gathering of Kierkegaard's articles from the FAEDRELANDET, the KJOBENHAVNS FLYVENDE POST, and other journals, both signed and pseudonymous (1836- 56), and therefore the first edition in book form of many of Kierkegaard's earliest published writings, accompanied by the first extensive bibliography of SK's writings (pp.274-96), compiled by his sometimes friend and disciple Rasmus Nielsen. Essentially, this work is the first substantive publication of Kierkegaard's writings following his death in 1855, and presents a number of items of great importance, including his 12 June, 1842, attack on Hegelianism, matters pertaining to the authorship of ENTEN - ELLER, his response to Professor Heiberg, his crucial address to Moller of 27 December 1845, wherein he revealed Moller's association with the CORSAIR, thereby giving birth to the vicious attack the CORSAIR made on him, etc. A very interesting and important work. HIMMELSTRUP 272.
