Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. Small crayon scribble to the front paste down. Plates are bright and clear. Cracking to gutters. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Heavy crushing to spine ends. Minor fraying to cloth at spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Sunning to cloth. Gilt lettering is darkened.

Condition: Good, although the covers are faded and sunned, particularly to the spine and cover edges. Front endpaper bears the name G.Huxley (Gervas Huxley, husband of the writer on Africa, Elspeth Huxley), and the date 1933.
